Objectives

This week challenges you to consider the intersection of several of the concepts we have been discussing.

Caliendo and Wise describe the issues of income inequality and poverty.

Coates showed us how the impact of slavery and racism add an additional dimension to the debate.

And the articles from last week added the impact of ageism on all of these issues.

How do all of these factors influence each other?

Instructor Materials

I decided to give you some data this week and to have you examine it and think about how it relates to all the things we have been discussing.  I think it will also inform your Legislative Briefs as you begin to examine the degree something is a problem and the impact it has on our society.

Assignments for the Week

Post 4:

Caliendo, Wise, and Coates connect the issues of income inequality and racism.  The articles on ageism add another dimension.  What are the ways these issues intersect?

Your Post 4 is due Saturday March 9th.  Since I am a day  late getting this material up, you can have an additional day if you need it.  We will talk in class on the 15th about the rest of the assignments and the midterm.
